Appearance

Platinum is a male goat with dark grey fur and deep blue-colored eyes. He has a tan skin tone, and besides his stomach and front of his torso (which is covered by his clothing), Platinum's body is mostly covered in fur. Past the elbow portion of his arms, however, his fur becomes lighter, taking on a more silvery color. He has a short, fluffy goat tail the same color as the latter portion of his arms, along with two copper-colored horns that stick out of his head and curl in such a manner that they may even seem dull from a certain view. Platinum's ears droop onto the side of his head, and on his head is also a lean, dark grey bang that somewhat sticks up. Platinum stands at 3'3 and weighs 77 lbs.

When dressing casually, Platinum tends to wear a somewhat long black jacket with a deep blue-colored undershirt. He also dons sport shorts that are grey at the center and tops but turn more whitish at the bottom. As for his shoes, Platinum's are varying shades of blue, with them being dark blue around the heel and light blue around the toe with white soles. He also wears white gloves with white cuffs.

Personality

One of Platinum's defining traits is how eternally cautious he is. After having spent so much of his life worrying about what would happen next, something that was rewarded by his parents and something he found himself regretting when he wasn't worrying, it's become a staple of his mindset. Platinum is very fearful of the world, and would much prefer to stay alone. If he has an opportunity to avoid a situation he thinks could go wrong, he will most definitely take it.

Because of this, Platinum tends to try his hardest to isolate people; after all, it's harder to get hurt by people if you avoid interacting with them in the first place. Platinum has so much of his time without relying on "friends" that he's convinced himself that he prefers being alone, but... that isn't exactly true. Platinum does get lonely, despite what he may tell himself, and he desperately wants companionship, but he just doesn't expect anyone to want to align themselves with him.

Clearly, Platinum is a pessimist who is very set in his ways, and tries to avoid every type of danger he can. When he does make friends, however, it doesn't take long for him to open up to them because he actually really does want to befriend people. Though he would not offer himself up to participate in whatever is troubling them, Platinum is very encouraging to their friends, whether it's reaffirming their beliefs, offering a solution (usually the path of least resistance) or just being a should for them to lean on.

That leads into another trait of Platinum, which is that he's a very good listener. While he only really observes situations when he thinks he's in trouble and is trying to escape it, he is constantly listening to the people and world around him. It's not uncommon for him to reference a piece of trivia about a person they'd just assumed everyone had forgotten about, and Platinum doesn't have a problem with just shutting up and letting whoever he's speaking to ramble on about whatever they want to discuss.

Platinum is, if it isn't already obvious, very weak-willed. This trait can present itself is several ways; for one, if someone has enough of a dominating presence, he can be very easily convinced to do whatever they want him to just because he sees them as the more immediate threat. This also means that Platinum isn't very likely to ever be a "beacon of persistence" or anything like that; if something presents too much of a struggle for him, he's most likely to give up and either try another solution or abandon it altogether. While it may sound cowardly - and for good reason, because it is - this makes Platinum a fairly competent leader when it comes to deathly situations, because when it comes to keeping himself or his allies safe, he knows to collect his wits and retreat.

Another key thing to know about Platinum is that though he is pessimistic, he is not self-loathing. He wishes he was stronger, but he does NOT wish he was any more brave. He doesn't view courage as a trait to be admired, he sees it as a flaw that gets people killed. In his experience, his fearfulness has gotten him away or out of trouble, and he'd much rather that than taking on any issue head-on.

History

Pre-Series

Platinum Foehn was first child born to Skye Foehn and Tomo Foehn. Growing up, he was not in the best of circumstances; his family lived in a ghetto known as Blussen, long with several other families. The only recurring trait among these families is that either one of the parents or children had supernatural powers; Platinum was born with aerokinesis, or the power to control wind, from his mother, and he discovered his at a very young age. No one in Blussen actually remembered why they were there, just that it was all they'd known for their entire lives. In Blussen, the Foehn family had to constantly watch their toes; the ghetto had guards who weren't too friendly to Blussen's inhabitants, there were other families who weren't above stealing or harming others to get food or clothing, and a lot of the people just... weren't very friendly.

It was because of this hellish living situation that Platinum and his family adopted a life statement: never get comfortable, and always watch your back. His family, before they had Platinum, explained to him while he was in his youth that before, life had been better for them in Blussen, as they'd been living with some other families, who'd agreed with them in a pact that they'd watch out for each other. However, there was an unspoken rule that his parents were unaware of - no children were to be born by people in the pact, as it'd make dividing resources more difficult - and as soon as Skye was pregnant with Platinum, the "family" his parents had known for so long kicked them onto the streets of Blussen, were they were forced to have Platinum. Platinum (who was still very young, mind you) regretted his very existence upon hearing this, but his parents emphasized that they didn't regret having Platinum in the slightest; their regret was thinking that they could trust anyone except the ones they loved in their disastrous ghetto.

For the next couple of years, the Foehns would live in and out of homes within Blussen, and it wasn't much fun for anyone, to put it lightly. However, when he was 8, Platinum's parents came up with a plan; there was a raffle every 10 years within Blussen that any family of four or more could apply to, and they'd be given a fair amount of money and be allowed to leave the ghetto. The raffle was coming up soon, so in order for them to qualify, Skye was pregnant with another child, which the ghetto officers counted as another family member, and the Foehns applied. As luck would have it, they were chosen in the raffle, and were sent on their way out of Blussen.

Now, the Foehns wanted to get as far away as they possibly could from Blussen, but though they'd been provided with a good amount of money, they couldn't go too far, so they settled in a somewhat far away town known as Sunset Heights, had their second child, a girl they named Leah, and enrolled Platinum in the public school. Platinum was ecstatic to see kids his age who'd been more privileged all their lives - he imagined how kind and benevolent they would be compared to his agemates in Blussen - but when he actually entered the school, he was... horrified. He'd never gotten much opportunity for social interaction with Blussen, and he didn't really feel like starting now, so from his first day of school, he kept his head down and tried his hardest not to get in anyone's way.

This act of avoidance intrigued some of the kids in his grade, who were wondering what the lame new kid was all about. The kids in his grade thought that it was his first day, so as time went on, he would open up... but he never did. And while some disregarded him as irrelevant filler in their lives, others were insulted that someone who appeared to be such a total loser was completely ignoring them, and a large number of boys banded together in order to make sure he knew who were the real top dogs in school. It didn't help that Platinum was physically not all that and got good grades, which only made him an easier target.

The bullies confronted Platinum, asking what his problem was, and Platinum stuttered that he was just heading home, trying his hardest to find the fastest way out of the situation and just leaving. However, he was quickly trapped by them, and they said they were tired of a wimp like him sulking around all unbothered and were deciding to do something about it. On that day, Platinum was beat up by a large number of boys simultaneously. He tried using his aerokinesis to fight back, but it was so untrained that he could do little more than just blow wind into his "opponent's" faces, which they simply laughed at. When he returned to his house, he was bloodied, bruised, and tears were streaming down his face.

For the next few months, Platinum's treatment at school was just horrible. The fact that he was being bullied was well-known among his grademates, but he was seen as such a loser that either no one cared enough to help him, or they even joined in on it. Along with that, news of his powers spread around the school, and he earned himself the insulting nickname "Windbag." Platinum's cowardice only increased further during this time, and he almost wanted to go back to Blussen after a few months of relentless bullying had passed. His only freedom was when he got home and was able to enjoy the company of his parents (who just advised him to try to run away from the bullies) and his baby sister. In fact, the time he spent at home was the only time in his life he really enjoyed.

His luck began to change for the better, however, when a fox girl known in the grade as Rosebud Wood who also had superpowers (hydrokinesis, to be specific) one day intercepted his bullies and began scolding them for their behavior. Rosebud was well-liked enough in the grade that her intrusion made the more physical bullies decide to back off, but as a result, her social status in the grade plummeted down to Platinum's level. Platinum apologized profusely, saying that she shouldn't have had to sacrifice her own happiness for his, but Rosebud seemed quite firm in her beliefs; she was even happier knowing she helped someone who needed it than standing back and watching it happen. Platinum was... confused by her courage, but he felt indebted to her, and since they were both not exactly the coolest kids in the grade, they befriended each other pretty quickly. Soon after they became friends, Rosebud's cousin, Andy Wood (who was also in their grade and had superpowers, particularly pyrokinesis) beat up everyone who had been insulting or hurting Platinum or Rosebud. Platinum was... pretty terrified of this Andy girl, and Rosebud was very intimidating herself, but the two became close friends for the next couple of years, dubbed the "Power Trio" by their grademates.

Powers, Skills and Abilities

Platinum's main superpower is his aerokinesis, which he inherited from his mother. However, Platinum has never gotten any kind of combat training, so it is pretty weak and practically useless in combat. However, that doesn't make it completely ineffective. Platinum can create and control winds, usually from/with his hands, which can provide him with a light breeze, allow him to send small gusts of wind at things, and let him inhale and exhale with fairly powerful breath; at least, stronger than anyone with it could manage. His aerokinesis also allows Platinum to be pretty light on his feet; though he is not a physical challenger in the slightest, he is actually pretty fast compared to the average 14 year old kid.

Another skill Platinum has picked up on is his academic skill. Platinum excels in school, probably because of how good of a listener he is and his skill at retaining information. Along with that, Platinum is a fast reader, and he's found quite a love for reading and writing literature. The writing aspect of that leads into another skill of his, which is his creativity. It's usually used so he can find crafty ways to get out of trouble, but Platinum is very open to thinking outside of the box, which makes him a great asset in group projects or school competitions.
